AquaTouch was created with an extraordinary vision – to provide leading edge technology, husbandry skills and knowledge to the aquarium hobby.
Over a successful 14-year history we have remained true to this vision and provided hobbyist in the greater Phoenix, Arizona and nationwide quality livestock and unique, but proven products from around the world.
As you review our online offerings, you will note that the number of items is low compared to most other aquarium hobby related online stores.
This is because we are simply extending what we do in our retail store.
Our objective is to provide customers the same level of expertise and support they would experience in our store and to provide dedicated hobbyists with products that we are confident will serve them well.
Over the past 14 years, AquaTouch has and now has an established customer base well in excess of 6,000 hobbyists. As we have grown, we have completed hundreds of custom aquarium installations, refined our product selection and supplier base, our quarantine protocols for livestock.
In support of our retail and nationwide wholesale operations we opened a 3,500-gallon marine quarantine facility over three years ago. This unique facility can be seen on our regular website and demonstrates our commitment to making hobbyists successful. From this facility we have supplied marine animals to clients in over 15 states and we continue to work to improve our quarantine protocols. To further expand our expertise of marine animals we have ongoing worldwide expeditions and over the past 6 years have visited approximately a dozen countries collecting specimens and observing animals in their natural environment.
Similarly, we make it a practice not to sell aquarium products unless we have proved to ourselves, buy using them in our own aquariums or in our retail store, that they are compatible with extended use in an aquarium. Too many suppliers depend on volume and simply selling large volume to remain viable. Our approach is unique, we depend on having customers that are satisfied with the products we provide and technical support necessary for the hobbyist to be successful. We continue to monitor emerging technology applications for the aquarium hobby and as we identify them, we include them in ongoing updates to our retail store.
In the area of aquarium products and accessories, we have been fortunate to have worked with a broad supplier base but have refined our primary suppliers to less than ten. We continue to have excellent relationships with our suppliers, many of which are manufacturers and the only source of some unique products. Similarly, we make it a practice not to sell items unless we have proved to ourselves, that they are compatible with extended use in an aquarium either by using them in our own aquariums or in our retail store. We continue to attend industry trade shows around the world, reviewing such things as aquarium design, lighting systems, filtration systems and foods.
AquaTouch maintains a uniquely qualified staff. All members are passionate hobbyists themselves and are able to apply their experiences to the selection of livestock and products. Many staff members are independently published in books and magazines and they continue to work to expand their knowledge base by attendance to a wide variety of national and international trade shows as well as domestic and international hobby related seminars.
